How can checked Yarn count. For yarn count testing required three instrument.
1. Wrapping Reel for length measuring .
2. Weighing Scale for weight measuring .
3. Lea Strength Machine for strenth measuring.
1st of all made yarn Lea with Wrapping Reel.
01 Circle = 1.5 yards
80 Circle = 120 yards
Now Calculate yarn count Nec system.
NEC = New English Count System.
NEC = Number of hanks in one pound
NEC = Length in Hanks ÷ Weight in Pound
Hanks = 840 yards
Pound = 453.6 grams
Constant for 120 Yards = 453.6 ÷ 840 x 120 = 64.8
If
120 yards weight = 3.24 grams
Nec = Constant for 120 Yards ÷ 120 yards weight
Nec = 64.8 ÷ 3.24
Nec = 20
Now same lea hang on lea strength machine and check strength in pounds.
if break at = 200 pounds
Now calculate CLSP
CLSP = Count Lea Strength Product.
CLSP = Count in nec x Lea Strength in pound
CLSP = 20 x 200
CLSP = 4000
